seven and twenty

' "A woman of seven and twenty," said Marianne, after pausing a moment, "can never feel or hope to inspire feeling again, and if her home be uncomfortable, or her fortune small, I can suppose that she might bring herself to the offices of nurse for the sake of the provision and security of a wife" '

---Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen

I suppose this means that today I am officially "washed up", at least in the mind of Jane Austen. I guess it's a good thing that I don't live in Jane Austen's mind.
