twenty-four

And I finished book twenty-four, "Leaving Home" by Garrison Keillor. It was a perfect book to read after seeing Prairie Home Companion, as I got all the Lake Wobegon stories that were missing from the movie.

Photograph

I wish I had a picture to show of my Cece. She is almost done, just needs her button and a good blocking. Hopefully that will happen this weekend, so she'll be ready to go to San Fran for the Fourth of July.

When I went out at lunchtime today I saw someone with a Clapotis. I wanted to shout down the street "Clap-o-teeee!".

while walking

Her sneezes made a small hiss.

Plus, I finished a new book, number 24, "Anywhere but Here" by Mona Simpson. It was good subway reading about flawed people.

23?

So this must be the 23rd book finished this year "The Giant's House" by Elizabeth McCracken. It was pretty good; I would definitely check some of her other books out.

In knitting news, I am fully on sleeve island, working on sleeves for Cece and Arisaig. I did finish the first Arisaig sleeve, so I'll block it this weekend and sew it in to see how it looks. I just hope I have enough alpaca for the 2nd sleeve and CF bands. I suppose if I don't I can get a contrast color for the CF band.

bad book girl

I have been pretty bad at keeping track here of what I've been reading. I have finished 3 books, but the only ones worth mentioning are Circle of Friends by Maeve Binchy and The Year of Magicial Thinking by Joan Didion. After finishing Friends it is just hard to find something to read that reall interests me, everything else seems kind of flat after getting sucked into that book.
