35 - 37

So I finished a few books with my knitting:

35 - Running with Scissors - Augusten Burroughs
36 - Passionate Nomad : The Life of Freya Stark - Jane Geniesse
37 - Home Cooking - Laurie Colwin

The best was Passionate Nomad, which was wonderful. Freya Stark lived an exciting adventurous life and affected a region that is so important today.

mittens

Now, I'm not a big fan of mittens for myself, mostly because I end up taking them on and off all the time here. The fingerless gloves are just much easier for winter here.

But, I can and have made a couple pairs of mittens. And I can make at least one more. Cause I really want to do this. You should do it too, cause even I can take some time out of the holiday knitting to make some mittens for some cold hands.

socktober failings

So I have failed completely at Socktober. I started at least 4 different socks and ripped them all. Oh well. I have this beautiful socks that rock yarn and some lorna's laces for a sock for my mom and both yarns I don't know what pattern to use. Hence the starting and ripping. I'm going to try the pomatoumus socks for my mom. The socks that rock is going to sit for a while though. I got some yarn for fingerless gloves at rhinebeck and I can always use a new pair of gloves, especially this time of year.
