Only funny to me

In class on Monday our guest speaker remarked, "The living is a pretty cool place." Sadly, she wasn't speaking about this living room, which is a pretty cool place.

Obsession

I'm slightly obsessed with making the perfect scarf and right now, the perfect scarf is this one. There is one small problem. I don't have any yarn to make this scarf. Oh well, I'm trying to be good and plug away at all the baby knitting so I can prepare for this summer's onslaught of babies. And there is a sweater that has been sitting all it's lonesome for a few weeks.

I did finish this fence vest, just in time to wear it at least once.

Subtle differences

I made a quick visit to NYC this weekend, where I witnessed one small difference between that city and the environment I find myself in here in Pittsburgh. Maybe it is the educational nature of the community here, but I do find that in Pittsburgh two common small talk questions have been replaced or slightly reworded.

In NYC a common small talk question is "What do you do?" and here it is replaced by "Where did you go to school/college/university?" And then in NYC the person you're talking to will often ask "Where do you live", i.e. what borough, neighborhood, county, etc. Here that question becomes, "Where are you from?", which I never know how to answer anymore.

Mittens

The only good thing about it being this cold in March is that it gives me a chance to wear the mittens I just finished.

Too bad I can't actually take a picture in the daylight of them, they look much better that way. Other than that I really hope I don't need to wear them much longer.
