oops...

I just may have learned to spin on a spindle last weekend and I just may have bought a spindle and some wool online. Oops. But it's so pretty and undyed. And I just happen to have some kool-aid and there just happens to be a dyeing tutorial here.

After all the fuss about not going to Rhinebeck, I decided to go on Friday night at ten. This was after being jerked around by an airline (who shall remain nameless, as long as they return my money as promised) all day. The wool fairies really wanted me at Rhinebeck it seems. I feel bad about missing my friend's wedding, but would not enjoy it, as I would miss the ceremony and would be very tired from leaving my house at five am to go to JFK. I would have been no fun whatsoever.
So to Rhinebeck I went. It's just too bad that I didn't learn to spin until after shopping or there could have been fiber and spindle buying too. But still I did end up with enough wool for two sweaters, from one place in building 31 and Fingerlakes woolen mill, and the yummy Kaffee Fassett sock yarn I have been coveting online. I had every intention to get some cormo to make an aran sweater, but could not find any that I liked in my price range. The cormo I really coveted would have blown my entire budget.

The couple things I did pass up, namely socks that rock and decadent fibers marshmallow, I can buy online. Is it just me, or is there always a point in the day when it is too hard to decide what to buy? Maybe it is overstimulation and I am not used to having access to so much yarn at once. I guess I feel like I should get it and hoard it as I will never see it again. This is the part of the day where my friends are very helpful, telling me what I should and should not buy. And of course they ended up with fabulous things too, including some things I wish I had bought.

All in all, it was a beautiful fall day filled with yarn.

Well, the yarn that you did get is just gorgeous! And Kaffe Fassett yarn...how cool is that?? Thanks for your thoughtfulness in leaving that skein of STR for me ;).
